How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Most of our full bathroom remodels finish inside seven days, which is faster than the industry norm because we run our own tile and flooring crews instead of waiting on subcontractor scheduling. A hall or guest bath with the layout unchanged is usually at the short end. A master bath where the shower is being rebuilt, the plumbing is being moved, or custom cabinetry has to be delivered will run longer, and the delivery lead time on tile and vanities is often the real constraint rather than the labor. We give you a day-by-day sequence in the written estimate so you know which days you are without the room.
What does a bathroom remodel with Anton's Floorcovering include?
We handle the whole room rather than just the floor: demolition and haul-away, any plumbing and electrical rough-in the new layout needs, custom cabinetry and vanity set, tile for the floor, shower, and tub surround, waterproofing behind the tile, paint, and final fixture set. Because tile and stone is about a third of our overall business, the tile work in your bathroom is done by the same certified installers who do our flooring jobs, not handed to an outside crew.
Do you move plumbing and electrical, or only replace finishes?
Both. A finishes-only refresh, where the toilet, tub, and vanity stay put and we replace tile, paint, and fixtures, is the faster and less expensive path and it transforms the room. When the layout genuinely does not work, we do move plumbing and electrical as part of the remodel. Relocating a drain or a wet wall adds time and cost, so we walk both options with you at the measure visit and price them, rather than assuming which one you want.
How do you waterproof a tile shower so it does not fail?
This is where a tile shower is won or lost, and it is invisible once the tile goes on. We follow the tile industry installation guidelines: a proper sloped pre-slope and pan, a bonded waterproof membrane over the substrate rather than plain cement board alone, correct thinset coverage behind the tile so there are no voids, and the right sealer and movement joints at the changes of plane. Skipping any of that produces a shower that looks fine for two years and then leaks into the framing below.
Can you match new bathroom tile to the rest of my house?
Yes, and it is worth planning. We have worked with tile distributors across the Twin Cities for years, so we can usually source a tile that carries the same tone and format as your existing flooring, or deliberately contrast it if that is the look you want. If we are also replacing flooring elsewhere in the house, we sequence the bathroom with it so transitions between the bathroom and the hallway land cleanly instead of meeting at an awkward threshold.
